Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Pixoby ("Pixoby", "we", "us") about Easeby, our app for iOS and Android (the "App"), and this website, easeby-landing.web.app. By installing or using the App, or by subscribing to Easeby Plus, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Easeby is a journal

Easeby is a journal. It is not therapy, not a medical service, and not a substitute for professional diagnosis, treatment or advice. The Perspectives practices are self-reflection exercises inspired by CBT and ACT. They are not treatment, and Easeby makes no claim that using it will improve any health condition.

Easeby is not for emergencies. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number. If you are thinking about harming yourself, contact a crisis line now. The App shows helplines by country, and you can find more at findahelpline.com.

2. Who may use Easeby

You must be at least 13 years old to use Easeby. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for any purchase.

3. What is free

The following are free, with no time limit and no ads, and need no account:

  • writing notes and rating how strong a feeling is;
  • look-backs after 1, 3 or 7 days;
  • all 6 Perspectives practices;
  • daily and look-back reminders;
  • app lock with Face ID, fingerprint or passcode;
  • export as text or JSON;
  • crisis helplines by country.

4. Easeby Plus

Easeby Plus is an optional subscription. It adds:

  • reflecting on a note with Easeby AI, within a daily limit;
  • your full history in Journey, beyond 30 days;
  • insights such as your most-named feelings, your most-spotted thinking traps and your average ease by feeling.

5. Subscription terms

  • Plans and price. Easeby Plus is offered as a monthly plan and a yearly plan. Prices vary by country and are shown in the App before you buy.
  • Free trial. Where eligible, the yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to a paid yearly subscription and you are charged the yearly price. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
  • Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
  • Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Managing and cancelling. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App, or deleting your data in the App, does not cancel a subscription. After you cancel, Easeby Plus stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Refunds. Purchases are billed by Apple or Google, so refunds are handled by them under their own policies.

6. Easeby AI

Easeby AI replies are generated by an AI model. They can be inaccurate, incomplete or not right for your situation. They are not professional advice of any kind and do not replace a doctor, therapist or other qualified person. Use your own judgment, and do not rely on them for decisions about your health or safety.

To protect you, the App does not send text that mentions suicide or self-harm to the AI, and shows crisis helplines instead. How Easeby AI handles your text is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the App for anything unlawful, or to create content that is abusive, hateful or harmful to others;
  • try to get around the daily AI limit, the App's safeguards or its security features;
  • access Easeby AI or our server by scripts, bots or any means other than the App;
  • copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the App, except where the law allows it.

We may limit or suspend access to Easeby AI for an anonymous ID that breaks these rules.

8. Your content

What you write is yours. It is stored on your device, and we do not claim any rights to it. You are responsible for your device, its backups and any exports you make. Because we never receive your notes, we cannot recover them if your device is lost or the App is deleted without a backup or export.

9. License

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for private, non-commercial use, under these Terms.

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple EULA) also applies. Where these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict about your license, the Apple EULA applies. These Terms are between you and Pixoby, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information is processed and why. It is part of these Terms.

11. Disclaimer

To the extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not promise that the App will be uninterrupted or error free, or that any particular result will come from using it.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Pixoby is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the App, including reliance on Easeby AI replies. Our total liability for any claim about the App is limited to the amount you paid for Easeby Plus in the 12 months before the claim.

13. Your rights as a consumer

Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live. Where such a law gives you a right that these Terms would limit, that law applies.

14. Changes and ending use

We may change the App or these Terms. When we change these Terms, we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the App if a change is significant. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the new Terms.

You can stop using the App at any time. You > Delete all data erases your data on the device and your anonymous account on our server.
